I joined flinder in March 2023 as the opportunity sounded promising and I was ready for a new challenge. flinder appealed to me because it was not a traditional accountancy firm and I recognised that the experience it offered would set me up well for running a large finance function in the future.

We get a far more comprehensive overview of the businesses we work with than what has been available to me before.

My experience at flinder so far has been really positive, my pod team members and my SA peer group have been incredibly supportive right off the bat. My pod feels like a real unit and working with our pod leader Matt has been a great experience. In terms of my work, I really love the variety, all my clients have such interesting backgrounds and I have learnt so much!

It’s great to have the flexibility of hybrid working but I also really enjoy the office environment. There is such a lovely crowd at flinder, it’s super relaxed and everyone is very supportive of one another. That’s why I’ve always enjoyed the socials as well as it’s a great opportunity to get to know people outside of work.

The founders and the senior management team have played a significant role in my journey so far. Luke’s approach to work and the processes that have been implemented at flinder is really inspiring.

The standards at flinder are high which sets a challenge, and this has contributed immensely to my growth as an accountant over the last 10 months.

The transparency the founders have with us about the business and the flinder vision is commendable. We receive regular updates about the business, it’s operations and future plans which has been so interesting to learn from. It's reassuring to be part of a team that shares the goals and direction of the company, and this all helps contribute to a well-thought-out and technical end product.
