I joined flinder nearly three years ago in August 2021, I was searching online for a new role and came across flinder. The application process started with submitting a video, followed by an online interview. I remember having terrible internet issues and contemplating whether to cancel the interview. My dad encouraged me to go for it, so I called to see if we could reschedule. flinder was really understanding and I managed to have my interview at a different time - I’m so glad I listened to my dad!

Before flinder, I worked in practice straight out of Uni before joining another firm where I learned how to use Xero and Quickbooks. This set me up well for joining flinder as I had been working with mainly manually processes before.

flinder appealed to me because it’s less formal and more relaxed than my previous workplaces. When I met the the team for the first time, everyone was so nice and welcoming. The unlimited holiday and the annual ski trip were also really attractive benefits.

The pod setup at flinder is great, it gives us a clear understanding of our career progression within the company. I started as an Associate and moved into a Senior Associate role, the structured ladder is motivating and helps you work hard towards your goals.

Working at flinder is really flexible, which is great. They are very understanding about working from home or adjusting my hours if I need to, which is really helpful. The socials at flinder are also great. They help you get to know the team better and relax outside of work.

The senior management team have always been so supportive, especially with my studies. They have helped me plan how to approach my studies, which modules to take first and what is going to benefit me the most. flinder has a great study support programme which has allowed me to progress in my exams and career.

My pod leader Sunil has been a great support, always advising me on what steps to take to progress in my career and giving me tasks to help with my development.
