Chris Agnew
Product Manager
I was the first flinder employee. I had previously worked with the founders at PwC and have now worked with flinder for over five years!
At flinder, our finger is on the pulse, offering live dashboards and daily analytics to our client base. We were originally using a third party piece of software but we've now been building a product to suit our clients' needs better. When we all worked at PwC, we didn't do dashboards or a snapshot in time for any clients, only monthly management packs. Now, we aren't held back by other products. We've worked to develop our own tool that can be used day in and day out, developing and planning the roadmap and onboarding clients.
Currently, we've been working on expanding the features and the way the clients can interact with their own data in a meaningful way which is really powerful.
As I'd known the founders previously, it helped build our relationship as we established flinder.
I've always felt heard and supported, especially with my family life, they offer real flexibility, nothing has felt like it's ever been too much for them to accommodate.
It's great to see the team grow and transition to where we are at now. And, I always enjoy coming over to see everyone in London. There's still that element of continuing to take that different tack - of still being flexible and open to evolving and seeing other opinions. It's always an open format with flinder.
I've been fortunate to have a good social connection in my previous roles, but flinder makes a big effort to be inclusive - making everyone feel comfortable and relaxed.
The founders are trying to push the boundaries, Alastair specifically. Luke has the technical element and strives to be the most efficient that we can - progress through innovation rather than just working harder. Luke's always thinking how we can enable the team to work better, not harder. They have the empathy of seeing people as people, not just at the cost of human resource.
The benefit of coming from a big company to a small one is we've had the flexibility to experiment and try things. I've really appreciated that autonomy to do so. That's at the core of who flinder is - and we will continue to push that in the years ahead as well.
